Founder and CEO of OAM Consult
Olivier Mukarji is an Executive in Residence at the Geneva Center for Security Policy. He has 15 years of experience in areas of peace building, mediation and DDR/SSR, youth empowerment working for the United Nations, World Bank, private philanthropic foundations and the private sector. Olivier is the founder and CEO of OAM Consult that focuses on promoting peaceful co-existence through the integration of human-centered crowd based technology into client advisory services for public and private organizations working in fragile contexts.
He has served as an adviser to the African Union and United Nations led Darfur Peace Process that was supported by the state of Qatar. Here he co-designed and implemented the civil society track and its interaction with the belligerent track. The focus was to secure the trust and participation of displaced communities (IDPs, refugees and the diaspora) in Chad and the Central African Republic. In his capacity as Senior Adviser to the World Bank, Olivier Mukarji has provides technical assistance to the African Union Defense and Security Division so as to strengthen the AU’s capacity to meet emerging DDR challenges across the continent related to cross border dynamics and youth radicalization.
Olivier is currently also an Associate Fellow at Leiden University Peace Informatics Lab where he supports efforts to identify and refine innovative big data tools to enhance existing conflict analysis methodologies, as well as strengthen existing approaches to mediation, peace building and organizational development. Olivier has a Masters in international development studies and communications from Roskilde University in Denmark. Of French and Indian descent, Olivier is a permanent resident of Denmark.
