The participants will focus on developing effective interventions to build sustainable peace.
The course will enable you to:
As conflicts are radically transformed from wars linked to traditional geopolitical power shifts to new fluid transnational non-state armed groups, peacebuilding needs to adapt fast in order to remain relevant. In recent years, peacebuilding interventions have grown in size, complexity and in the diversity of actors involved. No single set of actors can address the multiplicity of post-conflict issues — a comprehensive approach is required. Furthermore, peacebuilders are confronted with the challenge of applying international best practices whilst ensuring national ownership. This course will develop your capacity to navigate this new global environment.
The course is open to individuals currently working in the field of peacebuilding from governments, civil society organisations, international organisations and the private sector.
