8th Senior Level Course on Peacebuilding
This five day leadership course provides an opportunity for current and potential leaders to enhance their understanding of sustainable peacebuilding and leadership styles. Although the body of knowledge about peacebuilding is growing, a lack of clarity about what makes peacebuilding effective persists. Similarly, considerable knowledge exists on leadership, but fails to permeate in the peacebuilding field. This course provides an opportunity for practitioners to enhance their understanding of both leadership and sustainable peacebuilding.
This course has been run by the GCSP since 2009, in partnership with IPAT, an initiative of Interpeace, with the support of UNITAR, and on behalf of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland.

This course will provide nationals and internationals driving peacebuilding efforts with a safe environment where you can experience with your peers and experienced leaders acting as coaches, the leadership styles most effective in fluid post-conflict settings. Particular emphasis will be placed on collaborative and inspirational leadership methods.

2. Gender and leadership
3. Collaborative challenges for peacebuilding
4. Leadership for peacebuilding
5. Implementing leadership
The course targets current and potential leaders actively engaged in concrete peacebuilding challenges. The participants will be gender balanced and include government and non-government representatives, civilians, members of security forces and international actors.
