Leadership in International Security Course (LISC)

The Future Security Agenda: Strategies, Stakeholders, Solutions

The 31st edition of this eight month international training course in security policy is designed to increase the knowledge and skills of high performing professionals, who seek to enhance their career and engage in leadership positions in solving the world’s most pressing security challenges. Participants can also opt to take part in the concurrent Master of Advanced Studies in International and European Security, jointly run with the Global Studies Institute of the University of Geneva.

The course teaching staff includes GCSP’s international faculty composed of academics and practitioners with broad experience in international affairs, security policy, diplomacy and military affairs, as well as high-level international guest speakers from civil society, government, academia and international organisations.

Admission

  • Open to mid-career professionals working in national ministries and international organisations.
  • Candidates must have a relevant university degree and exposure to peace and security issues. Serving officers must have completed an advanced military staff course.
  • Participants must be proficient in both spoken and written English, the working language of the course.

The LISC is offered free of tuition charges for government officials as part of Switzerland’s contribution to the Partnership for Peace Programme.
