Strategic Trends 2017: Focus on US Foreign Policy, NATO, and European Security

What are key strategic trends in 2017? What are the sources of deepening global insecurity?

This event addressed these questions and more in the context of a presentation of "Strategic Trends 2017: Key Developments in Global Affairs", an annual publication of the Center for Security Studies at ETH Zurich (CSS).

The publication analyses key trends in international affairs without claiming to cover every important development in world politics. STRATEGIC TRENDS 2017 is the eighth issue in the series. It features chapters on rebuilding trust in European Security, the US foreign policy under Donald Trump and beyond, the effects of the “Brexit” vote on European security policies, and strategic divergences within NATO.

Expert contributors to this publication will be on hand at the GCSP to present the analysis and engage in a forward-thinking discussion on the key international security trends in 2017 and beyond.

This event will be held in partnership with the Center for Security Studies at ETH Zurich (CSS).
