Ambassador Pierre-Yves Fux


Ambassador of Switzerland to Slovenia & the Holy See

Pierre-Yves Fux, born in Geneva 2 July 1967, is ambassador of Switzerland in the Republic of Slovenia and to the Holy See since 2014.

He entered the diplomatic service in 1996 and was posted in Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Tehran and Amman, with several functions as well in the Directorate of Political Affairs at the Swiss Foreign Ministry in Berne (for Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and in human rights issues). His previous activities were in the field of research and teaching. He has a PhD in Latin literature from the University of Geneva and degrees from the Scuola Vaticana di Paleografia Greca (Vatican Secret Archives) and the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes (Paris-Sorbonne).

He is the author of several articles and comments on Latin literature as well as of books related to the interaction of religion, politics and history: La main tendue. Jean-Paul II en Terre sainte, Paris (L’Œuvre), 2011; Paix et guerre chez saint Augustin, Paris (Migne), 2010.
