James “Woody” Wade is a futurist, writer and publisher. As a specialist in scenario planning, his work involves helping organizations identify and understand the trends that have the potential to change their future strategic landscape – and thus affect their future success.
He is the author of Scenario Planning: A Field Guide to the Future, published in 2012 by US-based John Wiley & Sons. The book has since been published in three foreign language editions, becoming a bestseller in Japan, where it was voted the 14th best business book of 2014 by readers of Harvard Business Review.
Based in Switzerland for more than 30 years, Woody previously was an Executive Board member of the Geneva-based World Economic Forum, the foundation organizing the annual meeting of world leaders in Davos. He also worked in private banking in Zurich and was the Marketing Director of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne.
He is a graduate of Indiana University and Harvard Business School.
