Dr. Christina Schori Liang was an invited speaker at the 2015 International CVE Research Conference taking place from 6-8 December in Abu Dhabi. She presented a SWOT analysis on the importance of building up the RESOLVE Network to the 80 participants who attended the event.
On the margins of the UN General Assembly meeting in September 2015, stakeholders launched a research network focused on promoting local research on drivers of radicalisation and recruitment at an international research conference. This network, “Researching Solutions against Violent Extremism” (RESOLVE) will help fill a gap in providing an evidence-base for CVE programs and policies. An international Steering Committee led by the US Institute of Peace (USIP) will work to guide and direct the network into becoming a valuable tool for the CVE community.
GCSP became part of the RESOLVE Steering Committee when it was launched in September 2015 in New York. In January 2016 GCSP will host the first meeting of the RESOLVE in Geneva.
