GCSP Partner Launches Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination eCourse

Perceiving a need for more learning and training opportunities regarding humanitarian action, the UN Office for the Coordination for Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the US Institute for Peace (USIP) worked with other US agencies to prepare the UN Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination (UN-CMCoord) e-learning tool.

The e-course recognizes the key role played by military actors in humanitarian action following natural disasters and complex emergencies. The goal is to allow soldiers and humanitarians to better coordinate their responses.

OCHA and USIP will formally launch the course at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on 26 September.
