On Wednesday, 29th March, H.E. Mr Markus Leitner, Ambassador of Switzerland to the Arab Republic of Egypt, hosted an evening reception at the Swiss Residence for the inauguration of the GCSP Alumni Community Hub in Cairo.
The GCSP and its Alumni Affairs is expresses its sincere gratitude to Ambassador Leitner and Minister Jean Pierre Reymond for their support in planning the event.
Dr Siobhan Martin, Deputy Head of the Leadership, Crisis and Conflict Management Programme, and Director of the Leadership in International Security Course (LISC) was delighted to be present on behalf of the GCSP.
The evening marked a great opportunity for local alumni and partners to gather together, to learn about new developments at GCSP, and to hear about how the experience of being at the GCSP has enabled our alumni to grow personally and professionally since returning to their institutions.
The setting up of the hub comes upon the initiative of Mr Ramy Reda, alumnus of the 2015/2016 LISC and Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) Programme, who is currently seconded to the League of Arab States.
The GCSP has a long-standing impressive list of Egyptian alumni since 1998, including representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defence and Interior, as well as members of the press, regional and international organizations. The hub will provide an excellent opportunity for our Egyptian and non-Egyptian alumni to meet, to maintain and expand their professional networks.
The GCSP and its Alumni Affairs encourage the establishment of hubs to foster a greater sense of union among GCSP alumni living in the same area, and to maintain, foster and expand personal networking relations among former participants. If you are interested in setting up an alumni hub in your city or region, we would be happy to hear from you!
