Institutional Cooperation

To successfully manage current and future developments in the security environment, government officials, diplomats, military officers, international civil servants, NGO staff, as well as leaders from the private sector, must gain information, enhance their analysis, take part in discussions, and access updates on specialised topics.

They must confront themselves not only with an in-group but also with other points of views. There is there a need for education modules, customized policy analysis and personalised dialogue with actors from different origins.

The GCSP’s Regional Development Programme (RDP) is the point of contact for such tailor-made educational opportunities. Based on the customer’s requirement, the RDP proposes a programme, integrating internal and external lecturers, case studies and exercises. The location of the events is flexible: at the GCSP, at the customer’s site or other locations. The duration of the event is similarly adjusted to the needs of the partner organisation.

The Regional Development Programme’s previous and current customers for courses include the Swiss Armed Forces, the Swiss Defence Department, the Swiss Foreign Affairs Department, the German Armed Forces, the French Armed Forces, NATO and the European Security and Defence College, as well as NGOs and private sector companies.
