Internship Programme

Should you be interested for next year (Spring, Summer or Autumn), please send us your application early January 2006 indicating the period of time choosen (minimum 2 months, maximum 3 months).
The intership programme of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy
aims to widen the experience of the intern by providing opportunities
for appropriate practical and scholarly work, including participation
in Centre programmes as appropriate. Interns can also be expected
to contribute to the research, outreach and / or administrative
work of the Centre.
Geneva Centre for Security Policy internship programme procedures:
- Some interns will be chosen through our existing cooperative and exchange arrangements. Such interns will also be asked to complete the on-line application form.
- Some interns come to the Centre by first making a personal request. You may either contact the Centre, or, preferably, simply complete the on-line application form. Each intern must explain the nature of their project, when they wish to come to the GCSP, and provide the name of a referee.
- You will be informed when your application has been received. Acceptance of an intern is at the discretion of the Centre, and this process may take a little time.
- Suitability, resource questions and office space have to be taken into consideration by the Centre when chosing its interns
- The maximum time an intern should spend at the Centre should not normally exceed three months
- The Centre undertakes to monitor an intern’s academic work as well as any administrative and and practical contributions made to the Centre.
- A small honorarium to defray expenses can be provided for interns in certain circumstances
- On completion of the internship, the intern will be asked to write a short report on the range of work undertaken, and academic progress made.
- The Centre will provide each intern with a short report on
her/his contribution and will generate a reference if required.
