20 June 2006
GCSP Expert Mr. Marc Finaud addresses the Conference on Disarmament on Critical Infrastructure Protection at its informal meeting of 20 June.
Speech in English, en français
In October 2003, the GCSP organised a forum to address the coordination of planning and security measures in the protection of critical infrastructures across international borders, and between governments and the private sector. The Forum, the first of its kind, gathered a diverse group of experts from 29 countries representing government and inter-governmental organisations, businesses and academia. The conference was organised with support from governments and was co-sponsored by the private sector.
In October 2004, a second Forum on CIP organised by GCSP addressed homeland security and "New Challenges for Institutions and the Private Sector". More than 200 government officials, academics and private sector leaders from the United States, Europe and beyond met to discuss transatlantic responses to the global threat of terrorism. The two-day Forum provided a venue for dialogue to high-level policy makers and experts. The Forum costs were almost entirely covered by the private sector.
