African Peacebuilding Training Course, 8 - 19 June 2009 – EMP, Bamako, Mali
The second edition of the African Peacebuilding Training Course took place from 8 to 19 June 2009 at the Ecole de Maintien de la Paix Alioune Blondin Beye (EMP) in Bamako, Mali.
The Peacebuilding Training Course in Africa is conducted on behalf of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and in partnership with the Ecole de Maintien de la Paix Alioune Blondin Beye (EMP). EMP contributes to capacity-building in peace and security in African states.
The aim of the Course is to provide practical and comprehensive peacebuilding training in order to improve participant knowledge and/or prepare participants for deployment.

From 22 September to 29 September, the first edition of the African Peacebuilding Training Course took place at the Ecole de Maintien de la Paix Alioune Blondin Beye (EMP) in Bamako, Mali.

From 5 to 16 May, the GCSP ran for the first time a training course on Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) at, and in partnership with, the Ecole de Maintien de la Paix Alioune Blondin Beye (EMP) of Bamako, Mali.
