Objectives:
The Swiss Professional Officer Training Course (SPOT) (Stage de formation supplémentaire 2 pour officiers suisses - Zusatzausbildungslehrgang 2 für Schweizer Offiziere) provides expert training in the broad field of international security to its participants. The objective of the SPOT is the transfer of knowledge and the broadening of the conceptual understanding on international security issues with special reference to questions related to global and regional security, the role of states and international institutions in conflict management and peace building. The teaching methodology includes lectures, panel discussions, informal group discussions and a study tour to UN organisations in Geneva.
