Address the Most Transnational Security Challenge of Our Times
The 20th century, as well as the first decade of the 21st century, were marked by grave environmental damage taking place in the course of hostilities. The Paris Agreement and the Global Agenda 2030, among other legal instruments, are a testimony to the increasing awareness of governments and other international actors that environmental issues should be an integral part of addressing larger global challenges. Leaders need an understanding of the environment-security nexus, tools to come up with and implement new solutions, and use different aspects of environmental cooperation as an instrument for peace and security.
The course addresses mid-career professionals engaged in security policy design and implementation, providing them with the additional dimension of knowledge, tools and skills in the field of environment and security.
