Strategic Foresight: Tools and Techniques for Planning in Uncertain Times

Shaping the Present, Mapping the Future

In today’s fast-paced world, policymakers and executives, more than ever, need well-informed foresight to gauge policy responses. This course explores the fundamentals of strategic foresight and how to create sustainable decisions in uncertain and rapidly changing contexts. It examines emerging security challenges, foresight methodologies, as well as when to apply specific tools and how to design purpose-driven processes.

This course is the first in a series of five intensive, interactive residential modules, constituting all together the “Geopolitical Leadership for Organisational Impact” programme.

The course is designed for government officials, military officers, intelligence analysts, private sector actors, staff from international organisations, and representatives of the non-profit sector. It may be particularly useful for individuals with a policy planning function or those involved in risk analysis. It will also be of interest to professionals engaged in designing strategies to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.
