With over 3,000 members, the ILA presents the largest peer-reviewed Leadership global conference each year. This year, the GCSP-CCL Leadership Alliance co-director, Dr Patrick Sweet, has been hard at work shaping the theme with ILA, scholars and other leaders in the field. Key note speakers include Herman Van Rompuy, General David Patraeus, Margaret Heffernan, and George Papandreaou. The conference will also feature an estimated 1,200 participants from over 50 countries and more than 200 papers and presentations
Turbulence has emerged as the new normal. A critical, underlying human assumption about leading is that we are traversing or mobilising from some current state toward a new state. Often this new state will be characterised as stable or predictable. But, what if the mindset of leading from turbulence to stability is antiquated? What if 'stable' never comes? Leadership in Turbulent Times will consider what turbulence means, and what it demands for effectively leading in a humane world of resilient communities and thriving organisations. Gather with your colleagues in Brussels as we challenge existing assumptions and propose new ones. Let's marshal our individual and collective intelligence and advance the world's understanding and practices of leading in turbulence.
