Dr Linda Akua Opongmaa Darkwa (PhD) is a Senior Research Fellow at the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy, currently on leave and serving as the Coordinator of the Training for Peace Secretariat, a Norwegian capacity support program to the African Union Commission. Her research interests are in the areas of peace and security with a particular focus on the implications of global security paradigms on regional and local processes of governance, human rights, development, and security. Her recent publications include “The African Standby Force: The African Union’s tool for the maintenance of peace and security” in Contemporary Security Policy and “Humanitarian Intervention” in Katharina P. Coleman and Thomas Tieku African Actors in International Security: Shaping Contemporary Norms.
