Head of Learning Centre for Leadership and Culture at Greenpeace International
Irene is founder and head of the Learning Centre for Leadership and Culture (LCLC) for (one of the world’s global environmental organisations) - Greenpeace. She is based in Zürich (Greenpeace Switzerland), and leading a team of four. The LCLC is responsible for developing and deploying leadership programs for all staff in Greenpeace, on all hierarchical levels. The learning journeys of each program is closely connected to Greenpeace’s strategy and mission, and rooted in the organisation’s leadership capacity framework which was developed specifically for Greenpeace by the LCLC. Furthermore, the LCLC offers skill shares, lectures and talks on state of the art leadership topics for the growing community of practice (over 300 graduates so far).
Irene is an experienced education manager, designer and facilitator of on- and offline learning and development curricula. She is also an expert in blended learning approaches. Having been a managing director in Swiss NGOs for more than 15 years herself, this solid experience strengthens her work when coaching other leaders in Greenpeace. Her background in organizational and work psychology from being an assistant at the Technical Institute (ETH) in Zürich fuels her curiosity in trying to understand systems and the ever growing complexity that organizations face.
