Senior Research Advisor at the UNDP Oslo Governance Center
Dr. Jide Okeke is the Senior Research Advisor responsible for leading and coordinating research on Preventing Violent Extremism at the UNDP Oslo Governance Center. Prior to this, he was the Head of Policy on Peace Support Operations at the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa, where he oversaw the development of concepts, policies and guidelines for the deployment of peace support operations in Mali (2013), Central African Republic (2013/2014) Somalia and the Lake Chad Basin Commission region. He is concomitantly a non-stipendiary research fellow at the University of Portsmouth, UK. He holds a PhD in Politics and International Studies from Leeds University and a Masters of Art Degree in Conflict Resolution from Bradford University, both from the UK. He has published widely on peace and security issues in Africa.
