Dr Fernanda Salina

International Lawyer, Mediation Practitioner

Dr. Fernanda Salina is an international lawyer with extensive experience in the field of negotiation, mediation and dispute settlement at both private sector and academia. After exploring the practice of inter-state mediation from an international law perspective during her doctoral studies at the Graduate Institute Geneva (2006-2012), she is now focusing on mediation as a practitioner at a local level.

Her interest in dispute settlement was born during her work as an in-house lawyer in Crédit Agricole in Argentina (1998-2002) when she was responsible for designing negotiation strategies to be conducted in parallel to court proceedings with the aim to optimize the recovery of the borrowing portfolio. Triggered by this practice she decided to continue her experience at an international level and to explore negotiation and mediation from an interdisciplinary perspective.

She is a Rotary World Peace Fellow (2004-2006 at UQ) and an accredited mediator before the Swiss Chamber of Commercial Mediation. She holds a Ph.D. in International Studies with specialization in International Law from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva; an Advanced Masters in International Studies, Peace and Conflict Resolution from the University of Queensland, Australia; a Masters of Laws (LL.M.) in Public International Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands; a Bar Admission in Argentina and a Professional Law degree from Universidad Católica Argentina.
