Should the EU secure a common security?

Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) Senior Advisor Marc Finaud was interviewed by Tehran Times and discussed the current state of security in the European Union.

In a recent speech French president Emmanuel Macron stated that “Europe should no longer rely on America for security.” In his interview, Mr Finaud shares his insights on collaboration between EU and United States in term of security, including NATO and changes since Trump’s arrival at the White House. “EU did not wait for Trump to start building its common security and defence policy, including by including in the Lisbon Treaty an assistance clause even stronger than the one in the NATO Treaty,” said Finaud
