From Friday, March 10th to Sunday March 19th, Geneva will host the 15th Annual International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights (FIFDH).
Set in the heart of Geneva, this ten-day festival and forum will run in parallel with the Human Rights Council happenings, and encompasses such diverse themes such as terrorism, racism and the lives of child soldiers. Prominent personalities will participate in the panels following the movies and the international forums. Among the guests this year are, Yves Daccord, Director-general of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Tawakkol Karman, Nobel Peace Prize Winner in 2011, and Dilma Roussef, former President of Brazil.
The Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) supports the FIFDH and is committed to strengthen the relationship between art and peace, security and law. In this context, the GCSP will organize a workshop on enforced disappearances on March 15th. This is a great opportunity to discuss more about these topics. Due to the importance of these issues, more GCSP events on the nexus between security and human rights are to come.
