It was a global gathering on 1 June 2017 when more than 200 GCSP Alumni gathered in 15 different destinations for the First Global Alumni Night (GANN)
Participants attended gatherings in a number of locations including Addis Ababa, Berlin, Colombo, Geneva, Kinshasa, Moscow, New Delhi, and Zagreb. The night offered alumni the opportunity to network locally and create new opportunities for collaboration.
“The alumni community is not only about the past, it’s also about how we can shape the future together,” said the GCSP’s Isabelle Gillet, who is responsible for Alumni Affairs. “Having the ability to network professionally and having access to lifelong learning the GCSP allows our alumni to maintain a collaborative approach to shaping international peace and security in the world.”
GCSP alumni who wish to establish a local alumni community hub in their area and take the lead in uniting past GCSP course participants, are free to contact the GCSP directly: firstname.lastname@example.org. Details on the GCSP international alumni hubs are available here.
“I strongly believe in my spirit that GCSP Alumni community will be a great help in pursuing my career and dreams, through sharing of knowledge from experienced people all over the world. This community will also serve as a source for my inspiration to do better work for my country and other parts of the world that I may be fortunate to work in.” (Sierra Leone, Global Health Security Course 2017)
Kigali and Bucharest will also organize gatherings at a later date in June. Stay tuned!
