General (retd) Philippe Meyer, COO of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), participated in the 4th annual session of the Abu Dhabi strategic debate from 11 to 13 November 2017.
This conference was organized by the Emirates Policy Center (EPC), led by Dr Ebtesam Al Ketbi, in cooperation with the Atlantic Council and the GCSP.
The Fourth Abu Dhabi Strategic Debate (ADSD) organized by Emirates Policy Center (EPC) concluded its panels and activities, Monday, in Abu Dhabi.
This year’s edition of ADSD included nine panel sessions, with the participation of more than 100 prominent politicians, diplomats, experts, academicians and specialists in international relations and Futures Studies, in addition to the presence of more than 500 participants from the UAE, the Gulf States, the Arab region, and the world.
The panel sessions conducted over the course of two days covered topics such as: the soft power in the UAE, the security of the Gulf, a new approach to decoding the policies of Iran and Turkey, the future of conflicts in Syria, Libya and Yemen, the Qatar crisis, the policies of the US administration in the Arab world, the role of Russia in the region, and Asian countries’ leadership role.
EPC and GCSP are linked by a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2016.
