On 7 May 2018, a delegation from the Pakistan National School of Public Policy visited the GCSP for an interactive briefing session on International Geneva and the GCSP’s place therein.
The delegation was composed of senior government’s officials who were visiting Geneva as part of their National Management course. This visit was conducted by Ms. Dominika De Beauffort, Senior Policy Officer in the Security and Law Programme.
The aim of the visit was to enhance the officials’ understanding of the complex nature of the UN system, Geneva’s role as centre of global governance and multilateral diplomacy and the way public policy is being shaped in an international context.
The visit started with a tour of the GCSP and an introduction to the various centres located in the Maison de la paix. After the tour, the delegation received a presentation on the history of the city of Geneva followed by an interactive briefing on International Geneva, that is, a secure, open and neutral location, with a strong humanitarian and diplomatic tradition.
