From 26 to 30 November 2018 the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) welcomed 22 future Swiss career officers from the Military Academy at ETH Zürich (MILAK).
The participants attended a one-week training course in the Law of Armed Conflict (LOAC) and domestic law regulating the use of force, which constitutes an integral part of their Bachelor of Arts at ETH. The course was organised by the Swiss Federal Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS).
The programme is the issue of a broader collaboration between the GCSP and the Swiss Armed Forces, which includes more than 20 courses and activities organised in partnership with the DDPS. In November 2017, the GCSP Director, Ambassador Christian Dussey, and Major General Daniel Keller, Commander of the Swiss Armed Forces College (FSCA), renewed the training convention between the two institutions and extended their cooperation.
The GCSP is proud of the fruitful collaboration with MILAK to the benefit of Swiss security policy and enhanced implementation of the law of armed conflict, and wishes the MILAK’s participants much success in their military career.
