From 27 November to 1 December 2017, GCSP hosted the Military Academy at ETH Zürich (MILAK) for a training course in the law of armed conflict and domestic law regulating the use of force.
As an integral part of their Bachelor of Arts ETH in Political Science, future Swiss career officers of the Military Academy attended at GCSP a training course on the law applicable to warfare and the use of force. The programme is part of the broader collaboration between the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) and the Swiss Armed Forces, which includes more than 20 courses and activities organised by GCSP for the Federal Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS). On 20 November this year, GCSP Director, Ambassador Christian Dussey, and Major General Daniel Keller, Commander of the Swiss Armed Forces College (FSCA), renewed the training convention between the two institutions and extended their cooperation.
GCSP is eager to continue the fruitful collaboration with MILAK to the benefit of Swiss security policy and enhanced implementation of the law of armed conflict. We are proud of our contribution to a successful career for future Swiss officers.
