“This training allows you to pause and take a step back on your own leadership experience. It’s like a magnifying glass! It provides very useful tools and is a unique opportunity to take time to reflect and challenge your personal assumptions.”
The GCSP-CCL Leadership Alliance continues to make great strides in promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace. In April 2018, it launched the first edition of the course, Leading Inclusive Teams, helping current and aspiring executives unlock the full potential of their diverse teams.
The three-day programme brought together a select group of 11 participants from various regions and sectors, including diplomatic, humanitarian and security circles. Its aim was to hone the mindset, skills and tools needed to leverage manifold backgrounds, talents and perspectives in order to propel peace, innovation and prosperity. Focused on real-world challenges, the course combined knowledge sharing with leadership self-assessment, expert-led feedback and experiential activities, such as an immersive simulation on organizational inclusion.
Participants acquired practical tools for reducing bias and leading through conflict. One participant reflected on the course sharing that it was, “Provoking, fast-learning and enriching seminar. The course provides you with just the right combination of theory and practice, for leading in a more inclusive manner.” Read a more in depth reflection from the Director of SDG Lab, Ms Nadia Isler.
In-house expertise was complemented by guest speakers sharing best practices and latest research findings on a variety of topics, including power dynamics in spoken interaction and nudging towards inclusion.
On request, the course director’s offer bespoke trainings tailored to the specific needs of your team or organization, enabling you to reap the fruits of diversity.
The next GCSP-CCL Leadership Alliance open-enrolment course ‘Leading and Influencing for Impact’ is from 5-7 November. Registration is now open.
