Project Officer, Eastern Mediterranean Initiative

50% - temporary contract

1st March 2023 to 30th April 2024, with possibility to extend

The Eastern Mediterranean Initiative (EMI) is an inclusive dialogue platform for collective reflection and action that brings together experts – academic and former officials alike – from littoral countries of the Eastern Mediterranean region, along with third country observers. The EMI is looking for a qualified project Officer to provide support in content and substance to the Eastern Mediterranean Dialogue project, with a focus on the preparation and delivery of online, onsite and hybrid events.

 

PROJECT PREPARATION AND DELIVERY OF MEETINGS & OUTREACH AND NETWORKING: 

  • Support  in the substantive preparation of workshops and other meetings of the EMI, e.g. in drafting concept notes, thematic papers, workshop programmes, backgrounders, and other documents
  • Collaborate closely with other colleagues in workshop preparation and delivery
  • Support in consulting dialogue participants and identifying possible new dialogue participants and thematic experts, where appropriate
  • Where appropriate, contribute to the facilitation of workshop sessions
  • Carry out ad hoc research on issues related to the eastern Mediterranean, as required

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT & REPORTING

  • Draft workshop reports, donor reports, and other reporting documents, as required and in close collaboration with the Project Officer (Logistics)

 

CORE SKILLS

  • University degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
  • Sound knowledge in the Eastern Mediterranean Region.
  • Agile, dynamic, proactive and reactive; ability to work autonomously under guidance.
  • Proficiency in Windows environment.
  • Ability to interact with colleagues of diverse cultures, respect for diversity.
  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
  • Swiss national or holder of a valid work permit.
