Full time – 1 year contract with possibility to extend

The Global Fellowship Initiative (GFI) brings together a vibrant, multi-disciplinary, multicultural and multi generational network of experts and practitioners from different horizons that want to develop sustainable solutions for a more peaceful future. MISSION

The GCSP is offering a full-time position, to a recent graduate in in international relations, politics, development or a related field (or who possesses relevant vocational qualifications and project management experience). The Junior Professional Officer is under the overall supervision of and reports to the Head of Global Fellowship Initiative. She/he works in close collaboration with colleagues in his/her department and in cooperation with colleagues in the Director’s Office, GCSP’s departments, and in other support services, including the Departments of Administration, Finance, ICT, and Human Resources.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide administrative assistance in the daily management of the GFI:

  • Establish and maintain up to date documentation and databases, including using Salesforce.
  • Review fellowship applications and be part of the selection committee
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of GFI’s events such as Staff and Fellows’ Briefings, FIKAs, Fellows Salons
  • Prepare updates, reports and participate in internal and external meetings as required.
  • Communicate and coordinate with colleagues, fellows and guests in a professional manner that reflects the values and aims of the GCSP.
  • Assistance in the development of the GFI marketing:

Assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of the GFI department in line with its implementation plan

  • Pro-actively monitor and contribute to the GCSP website and GFI marketing (including via social media) & communication (presentations, promotional materials) to ensure accurate, attractive, and high-quality visibility of the GFI’s activities
  • Coordinate the development and updates of promotional material (PowerPoints, brochures and documents)
  • Assist in communications campaigns and in drafting funding proposals for specific funders and donors
  • Conduct market research and research on sources of potential funding for the GFI, competition and new developments.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate diploma in International Relations, Development, Political Sciences, Economics, International Humanitarian Law or other related fields
  • A minimum of two years of relevant functional experience.
  • An experience in the management of events and/or in a hospitality environment would be a real asset.

CORE SKILLS

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and French is required; knowledge of other languages is an asset.
  • Good IT skills; proficiency in Windows environment is expected
  • Social media savvy
  • Knowledge of Adobe In-design and Photoshop would be highly valued
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; good presentation skills
  • Pride yourself on your excellent, pro-active organisational skills, a customer service mindset and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact with colleagues, partners and customers from diverse professional sectors and cultures; respect for diversity.
  • Ability to work and plan your time autonomously under guidance, solution focused and comfortable highlighting opportunities for improvement.
  • EU or Swiss citizen or holder of a valid Swiss work permit.

The GCSP offers an interesting junior opportunity in an international working environment with pleasant work conditions. Remuneration is 4’160 CHF per month (gross, before deduction of social security contributions and income tax) on a full-time occupation.
