Dylan Ramshaw is a security risk management consultant at Open Briefing providing assessments, planning, and training support to civil society organisations, activists, and human and environmental rights defenders facing grave threats from state and non-state actors. Previously, he worked for eight years in progressively more senior roles with the international NGO Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) managing a portfolio of research projects aimed at evaluating the impacts of social programmes to inform development policy. As IPA Country Director in Peru and Zambia, Dylan brought together donors, government, and a network of academics to design and implement research in complex political, social, and security contexts. Earlier in his career, he worked for several years in Central America and Mexico, including on human rights protection and advocacy in Guatemala. His academic degrees include an Executive MSc in international strategy and diplomacy from LSE and a PGCert in intelligence analysis from Brunel University London. Dylan is currently concentrating his professional endeavours on research and policy to address the protection and resilience of civil society threatened by organized crime and violent extremist groups.
