Younes Zangiabadi is the co-founder and Executive Vice President of the Institute for Peace & Diplomacy, a non-partisan foreign policy think tank dedicated to promoting and amplifying innovative thinking in North Atlantic foreign policy. In addition to running the operation of the organization, Younes also leads the Middle East program where he manages a team of research associates and fellows that conduct research and convenes briefings on current and emerging issues in the region. He is also the lead organizer of the Annual Middle East Strategy Forum (MESF) that brings together a diverse group of international speakers and key stakeholders to engage in constructive discussion focused on the geopolitics of West Asia. Younes specializes in international security with a focus on restraint foreign policy and deterrence in the Middle East and he has written about his views for various publications including The National Interest, Responsible Statecraft, Atlantic Council, and the Hill Times. Younes has been interviewed and referenced by major media outlets such as CBC, The Globe and Mail, National Post, Canadian Press, BBC News, Aljazeera, and others. He obtained his Master’s of International Affairs, with a major in global security and international trade, from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.
