Nadira Mukhamejan is a master’s student in International Master in Security, Strategy and Intelligence (IMSISS) with a BA in International Relations from the Kazakh-German University. As an assistant of the UNESCO Chair of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in Central Asia, she analyzed regional water policies and legislation, and produced policy-oriented studies as an intern at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies. Additionally, as a member of the Central Asian Youth for Water and the country coordinator at the COY16 she worked on advancing youth participation in environmental decision-making. Nadira is fluent in Kazakh, Russian, English, German, and currently learning French. As a member of Swiss Water Partnership Youth, now she is implementing “WH2O? for Youth” project aimed to create an youth-friendly digital platform for mapping Swiss water stakeholders. Her research interests include gender security, water security and governance in Central Asia. She will be joining GCSP as a fellow on the Human Security, Climate and Health cluster to learn more about the the intersectionality between gender and environmental security.
