Mr Hichem Khadhraoui
Position(s) Executive-in-residence at the GCSP and former Director of Operations at Geneva Call

Mr Hichem Khadhraoui has over 17 years of international experience in the field of humanitarian relief, humanitarian diplomacy and negotiations. He started his international career at the International Criminal Court at the Prosecutor office before joining the International Committee of the Red Cross. He worked 10 years in the field as humanitarian manager in countries such as Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan or Somalia. He developed an expertise in negotiating with hard-to-reach actors; States and non-States ones and visited hundreds of detainees across the globe in US military camps of Guantanamo, Iraq and Afghanistan. He then joined Geneva Call where he was the Director of Operations for the past 7 years. He particularly worked on engaging armed groups and de facto authorities on the respect of International Humanitarian Law with concrete results in the field such as release of child soldiers and evacuation from hospitals and schools.  He holds a LLM in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights from Western Cape University, South Africa. He completed certificates in Project Management (PMP), Security Management, and Leadership from IMD Business School Lausanne and Columbia Business School, New York. Hichem is the proud father of 3 boys and is fluent in Arabic, French and English. He doing boxing, football and snowboarding and loves music creation.
