Ms Lucrezia Sapienza
Position(s) Project Manager in Virtual Reality training with expertise in Security, Defense and Arms Control

Ms Lucrezia Sapienza is a Young Leader in Foreign and Security Policy within the Global Fellowship Initiative of the GCSP. Lucrezia Sapienza is pursuing her career in the field of multilateral security and defence with experiences at NATO, the Embassy of Italy to Estonia, and the think tank Istituto Affari Internazionali. Her focus is on arms control and disarmament, military training and exercises, and defence cooperation. Having worked within multilateral cooperation fora, she based her action on established best practices and negotiation mechanisms. At NATO, she effectively delivered military training and exercises for the Alliance and its partners. Now a Project Manager for Virtual Reality training solutions, she focuses mainly on the EU Project VERTIgO, which aims to prepare first responders to tackle Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) threats. Committed to creativity and innovation, she is a member of Women in International Security (WIIS) where she promotes gender equality through advocacy to foster representation in the field of defence. Lucrezia holds a Master's degree in International Politics and Markets and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Diplomatic Affairs, both awarded with honours by the University of Bologna. Her native language is Italian and she is fluent in English and French, with a basic understanding of Spanish. A political activist, in her free time she is also a contemporary dancer with a passion for photography.
