OSCE Focus Conference 2022

OSCE FocusRebuilding security in Europe: What role for the OSCE?

After a two-year hiatus because of COVID-19, the annual OSCE Focus Conference will be held on 21 – 22 October at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy in Geneva (GCSP). This event will bring together approximately 40 high-ranking participants from the OSCE community to provide an opportunity for constructive, open, off-the-record dialogue and debate about the current state of the OSCE at a time of crisis.

This conference takes places at a crucial time for the OSCE and for European security to deliberate on such questions as what role is there for the OSCE in reducing tensions and in rebuilding security in Europe? How the OSCE can help to resolve the war in Ukraine and improve and manage relations between Russia and the West? Is there still a chance for cooperative security?  The key reflections and suggestions raised during the meeting will be summarized in a report to be published after the event. The event will be organized by the Geneva Centre for Security Policy in close collaboration with the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland.
