Crisis management and decision making are crucial skills for both the public and private sectors. Indeed, no crisis, whether a natural disaster or a man-made event, can be pigeon-holed into one sector or another.
Inevitably, a crisis will cut across national boundaries, economic industries and departmental silos. We cannot predict when the next crisis event might occur. But we can be better prepared.
Preparation involves a deeper understanding of which crisis management tools and techniques are most appropriate in any given situation. Through our executive education courses, publications and outreach programmes, our aim is take participants through crisis management as a higher order skill and transform them through their learning experiences. By engaging with GCSP, participants will have access to the most up-to-date thinking on crisis management tools, communication strategies and leadership skills.
At the GCSP, we are educating policymakers and executives to think and act more creatively in crisis management. Drawing on our extensive global network of military and diplomatic experts, we prepare leaders to understand better the nature of contemporary crisis events, and to build skills and knowledge to make them better able to navigate whatever storms may lie ahead.
