Profile

Andrés Abad Rodriguez is a strategic technology leader with over 20 years of experience transforming complex technology operations into scalable, people-centric ecosystems. His expertise focuses on Technology Strategy, Artificial Intelligence, and Quantum Computing, specializing in aligning enterprise governance with emerging digital frontiers.
Prior to joining the GCSP, Andrés served as the Head of Technology Delivery and Operations at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. His career is deeply rooted in the Geneva international community, having held key leadership and technical roles at CERN, where he managed critical data processing services for the discovery of the Higgs Boson , as well as at Wella Company, where he served as Head of Digital PMO and Digital Center of Excellence Manager. His extensive experience also includes senior positions at the World Health Organization (WHO) , the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) , and the United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC).
In addition to his corporate and intergovernmental work, Andrés is a committed advocate for ethical tech governance. He is a Research Member at the Center for AI and Digital Policy (CAIDP) and an Advisory Board Member for the Quantum AI Foundation. He previously founded and chaired the Astai Forum, a Spain-based think tank dedicated to AI for Social Good.
Andrés holds an Executive MBA from IE Business School and an MSc in Computer Science and another one in Cybersecurity. His academic background is complemented by specialized programs in AI for Business from The Wharton School , Leading Digital Transformation from MIT , and the Oxford Senior Leadership Executive Programme.
