Supporting female leaders and designing more inclusive peace and security

This session is cohosted by the Geneva Center for Security Policy (GCSP)/ the Maison de la Paix Gender and Diversity Hub, The Global Reset, and Women in International Security (WIIS) Switzerland.

Twenty years since the landmark United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325, the Women Peace and Security Agenda needs to move from policy to action. Resetting international cooperation and rebuilding will not be possible without more meaningful participation of women in the international system’s decision-making structures. Through a creative and immersive workshop the event aims to engage our diverse community of women and allies, to tap into our collective intelligence and explore:

  • how to navigate and improve the current system for female leaders in peacebuilding and security and overcome gendered barriers;
  • how to change peace and security institutions and design a more inclusive, sustainable, and equitable future.

In small groups you will have the opportunity to form connections with the GPW community, exchange experiences, and brainstorm innovative strategies for women’s inclusion in international peace and security.
