We are pleased to welcome you to a Public Discussion on “Strategic Trends 2019: Key Developments in Global Affairs, jointly organised with the Center for Security Studies of the ETH Zurich.

This event will address broadly some of the key developments in global affairs but will focus on two key issues: “The Eclipse of Western Military-Technological Superiority” and “Russia’s Renaissance in the Arab World.” These two issues are described in detail in two chapters in Strategic Trends 2019: Key Developments in Global Affairs, the annual publication of the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich. The publication analyses key trends in international affairs without claiming to cover every important development in world politics. Strategic Trends 2019 is the tenth issue in the series. Expert contributors will present their analysis on the above topic and will engage in a forward-thinking discussion on the key international security trends in 2019 and beyond.
