Profile

Dr Andreea Stoian Karadeli is an Associate Fellow within the Global Fellowship Initiative of the GCSP. Dr. Andreea Stoian Karadeli is an independent expert, consultant with extensive experience in CT and national security and a collaborator with several organizations and institutions worldwide (NATO, UN, EU). Dr Stoian Karadeli completed her PhD in National Security and Intelligence at Mihai Viteazul National Intelligence Academy, Romania. She is also a graduate from Exeter University, United Kingdom, where she studied a BA in Arabic and Middle East Studies and a Master of Research in Security, Conflict and Justice. Andreea Stoian Karadeli’s research is multidisciplinary with the main focus on the evolution of religiously inspired terrorism after the Arab Spring, with intensive work in Syria and Turkey and on the Daesh formation and evolution, radicalisation, foreign terrorist fighters and forensic profiling. Dr Stoian Karadeli’s work on Daesh includes a complete database of Daesh’s activity in Turkey and EU member states during the period between 2014 and 2019. Dr. Stoian-Karadeli is an Associate Fellow at GCSP, involved in various project with the T-JAG team, and a Visiting Researcher at the University of South Wales.
