Profile

Dr. Wallace S. Cheng is an Executive-in-Residence Fellow at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP). He is an expert in AI and quantum governance, leading high-level engagement in Geneva to monitor and mitigate catastrophic risks from advanced technologies.

Dr. Cheng has worked with the UN World Food Programme (WFP), UNCTAD, Globethics, and ICTSD, driving initiatives that connect technology to the public good in high-stakes systems. He serves as Professor and Programme Director for Frontier Technologies and Governance at the Geneva School of Diplomacy, where he supervises PhD and Executive Master students.

He is a strategic advisor to the Stop Killer Robots campaign and the University of Florida AI Ethics Programme. Since 2015, he has contributed to the World Economic Forum as an Agenda Author, shaping global dialogue on trade, technology governance, and inclusive peace.

Dr. Cheng is a Swiss citizen, a Yale World Fellow, and holds degrees from Fudan University and the University of Oxford.
