Dr Wendy L. Schultz
Dr Schultz has been engaged in futures research and participatory foresight globally for over forty years. She has designed futures research projects for NGOs, government agencies, and businesses. Her recent work includes scanning, scenario building, and strategy innovation for the World Organization of Animal Health (WOAH); creating scenarios and an interactive workshop process to help Baillie Gifford investment teams stress test their portfolio planning against climate model output from the Network for the Greening of Financial Systems; a report on Law in the Emerging Bio Age for the UK Law Society (see report and video online); and facilitating the panel discussions and worldbuilding futures process for the Deep Transitions Futures project on pathways to just sustainable futures.
Wendy specializes in provocative interactive futures methods and systems-informed foresight research. Her participatory futures workshops include recent online sessions for WOAH, the ILO, and the International Institute of Islamic Thought; her recent face-to-face workshops have included foresight training for policy-makers and local leaders in Kuala Lumpur and Istanbul; at a Temporary Futures Institute at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Antwerp; for Africa Knows in Arusha, Tanzania; and with the Geneva Centre for Security Policy in Bangkok, New York, and Geneva.
Wendy is Co-Founder at Jigsaw Foresight and the Director of Infinite Futures. She is a member of the OECD Expert Group on Strategic Foresight; a Fellow of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy; a Senior Fellow of the Center for Post-Normal Policy and Futures Studies; a member of the Association of Professional Futurists; a Fellow of the World Futures Studies Federation; and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce.
