Thomas Morgan is the Chief Research Officer at the Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP), where he leads the organisation's global research program and oversees the development of its internationally recognised analytical frameworks and indices.

Thomas is responsible for directing IEP's flagship research publications, including the Global Peace Index and the Global Terrorism Index, providing evidence-based insights into global conflict trends, security risks, geopolitical stability, and the economic impact of peace. His work focuses on analysing long-term macro trends, including international fragmentation, the decline of formal peace agreements, the evolution of asymmetric warfare, and the factors that drive peaceful and resilient societies.

An experienced researcher and thought leader, Thomas regularly presents IEP's findings to governments, international organisations, business leaders, and policymakers, helping inform strategic decision-making on peace, security, and sustainable development.

Thomas holds a Master of Economics from the University of Sydney.
