Ms Gosia Loj
Gosia (Malgo) Loj is an Executive-in-Residence Fellow at the GCSP, focusing on AI and Leadership. A senior UK Government official and tech diplomat currently on a career break between posts, she brings fifteen years of experience in international AI governance, digital and technology policy, multilateral diplomacy and strategic communications. She has held senior leadership roles at the UK Departments for Digital, Science and Innovation and Technology, where she led the UK's AI Safety Summit, G7 Digital & Technology Presidency, and international engagement across the UN, OECD, G7/G20 and Council of Europe. She served as UK Head of Delegation and Chief Negotiator for the G7/G20 Digital & Technology Track, and as Vice-Chair of the OECD Committee on Digital Economy Policy, representing the UK across 38 member states. She also served as Deputy Head of the Security and Technology Programme at the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) in Geneva.
At the GCSP, Gosia is designing and developing a Leadership in the Era of AI programme with the Geneva Leadership Alliance, exploring the implications of artificial intelligence for leadership, decision-making and institutional governance. Her broader interests span neuroscience, cognition, psychology and relational dynamics — areas she sees as deeply connected to understanding how leaders and organisations navigate the AI transition.
Gosia began her career working across international organisations in Geneva and Brussels, including the WTO, European Commission, NATO and ICRC, and spent several years living and working in South America. She holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Politics with Economics from the University of Bath, an MSc in International Development from the University of Amsterdam, and an Executive Certificate in Innovation and Technology from MIT.
Outside of her professional life, Gosia is an active member of Geneva's international community. She speaks English and Polish natively, is fluent in Spanish, and has working proficiency in French and Portuguese. A former professional dancer, she is an enthusiastic outdoor sports participant, sailing and skiing with the CERN Sail and Ski Club, climbing with Oak Climbing Community, and playing tennis with the Eaux Vives Tennis Club in Geneva.
