Profile

Ines Gassal-Bosch is a Senior Research Officer in the Geopolitics and Global Futures Department at the GCSP. Her work focuses on the international security implications and governance of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, neurotechnologies, and outer space technologies. From 2018 to 2020, she contributed to the GCSP’s Gender and Inclusive Security Department and the Geneva Leadership Alliance, where she coordinated executive education programmes and conducted policy-oriented research.

Prior to joining the GCSP, Ines developed a keen interest in policy-oriented research and security policy at the German Federal Academy for Security Policy (BAKS). As part of the Carlo-Schmid scholarship programme at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), she explored the nexus between international security and migration.

Ines has an MPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies and a BA in Modern Languages from the University of Oxford. While at Oxford, she freelanced as a translator (English/German) for Blinkist.

Raised in an Iraqi-Polish family in Berlin, Ines is passionate about intercultural exchange. She speaks German, English, French, and Polish, and is working on improving her Arabic.
