Conversations on European Security

How to rebuild the future of European security? It’s complicated. And there is no easy path to peace. But it’s possible.

To explain the complexity of the multidimensional security challenges in wider Europe and to stimulate thinking and action to de-escalate tensions, the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) developed The Peace Matrix, through a series of “Conversations on the Future of European Security”.

The Peace Matrix provides a framework for making sense of the various issues at stake, and the actors who need to deal with them. It also identifies issues that must be addressed to de-escalate tensions, safeguard the sovereignty of Ukraine, and restore a security order in Europe. 

The newly interactive version allows users to enter the matrix and build their own paths to peace. By clicking on a hexagon, the user also learns more about each option.
