Speech: Doing Things Differently: Mediating in Mozambique

10 May 2023

“At a time when the paths to peace worldwide are becoming fractured with mistrust, competition, rivalry and an arms race, I am delighted that we have an opportunity to learn more about ‘what can work’”, says Ambassador Thomas Greminger during his opening remarks at the Geneva Security Debate entitled “Doing things Differently: Mediating in Mozambique”.

Acknowledging Mozambique’s and Switzerland’s exceptional leadership in the peace process, he invites the audience to reflect on the questions: What do we need to do differently? What do we need to uphold and continue? What do we need to challenge to enable creativity and innovation?
